SODO | Delaney Park
In the past ten years, SODO (South Downtown Orlando) has seen explosive growth, bringing new development in the form of national retailers, new businesses and trendy apartment homes. As a result of Orlando’s revitalization program, this has become a popular community for buyers and investors seeking rehab opportunities and lower home prices than downtown Orlando. The community offers an eclectic mix of properties from 1950 ranch homes and charming bungalows and cottages from yesteryear to newer construction townhomes, a few condo communities such as Lake Pineloch, and even a few estates. The community is also sought after for its high rated schools. With easy access to I-4 and the 408 Expressway and fairly close proximity to the airport, this area is also desired for its quick access to major thoroughfares. Sodo is also home to Arnold Palmer’s Children’s Hospital, and Winnie Palmer’s Hospital for Women, as part of the Orlando Regional Health Systems, Amtrak, and several medical facilities.
It’s neighboring community of Delaney Park, is a little gem tucked off S. Orange Avenue with beautiful parks, brick-paved streets and homes dating back to the roaring 20’s. Most of the homes in this community were built between 1920’s to 1960’s with newer homes dotting the landscape throughout.
